ISKCON Atlanta cordially invites you and your family to the Annual Celebration of ISKCON Atlanta’s Ratha Yatra and Panihati Festival. We are holding a three day festival, June 6 – 8, with Sadhu Sanga, Kirtans, Bhajans, Prasadam, and also professional entertainment which includes dance(Bharat Natyam, Kuchipudi, Dandia), live theatre and live music(Murari band, Kindred spirits, local artistes).


 


Friday the 6th June with Maha Sudarshan Homa performed by Pundit Chaitanya Bhagawan Das for peace, prosperity and unity. We will also celebrate Holy, the festival of colors, in the company of hundreds of devotees and youth from all over the United States.


Saturday 7th June is the day for the most anticipated Ratha Yatra Festival which will start at Piedmont Park at 3:00 pm. This year, by the mercy of the Lord, we will have three big chariots, (ratha). This festival originated in Jagannath Puri, India, approximately 5000 years ago by the desire of Lord Jagannatha. At the age of five, Srila Prabhupada organized the first Ratha Yatra in Calcutta. Now it is celebrated in the streets of major cities like London, Paris, Sydney, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Mexico city, and on New York’s prestigious Fifth Avenue, as well as many other cities of the world. ISKCON of Atlanta has been celebrating this festival since 1972, and the participation is growing every year.


Sunday June 8th Panihati festival celebrated since last 500 yrs with chip rice and yogurt are filled in hand painted clay pots which are auctioned.


 


The ISKCON temple of Atlanta, the longest standing Krishna temple in Georgia, was established in 1972. Srila Prabhupada requested all the devotees to visit this temple, calling this temple New Panihati Dhama. This temple has been serving the community distributing thousands of books on the Vedas, thousands of plates of Prasadam, and holding hundreds of home programs.


 


On all the days Festival shall remain open 10am-10pm


- Darshan and arati shall open as per regular timings. Pooja shall be offered on request for the devotees.


- International Vegetarian Food Court catering to mouthwatering preparations from all over the world.


- Multicultural Cultural Shopping Bazaar- Clothing, Jewelry, Beads, incense, Pictures, posters, devotional items, Music CD/DVD, Painting, books 



Thanks to your generous moral support this festival has always been offered free of charges, and this year the tradition continues. Your support is greatly needed and highly appreciated. Please, come forward and take this opportunity to get the mercy of Their Lordships. Volunteers are also needed to assist in running this festival.
